RASOCOAT

Plaster/adhesive for insulation systems with polystyrene coat

Code: INT.0125

Components: 1

Appearance: Powder

Premixed monocomponent powder compound, based on hydraulic binders, hydro-dispersible resins, selected siliceous and limestone aggregates and specific agents. With RASOCOAT and the sole addition of water, it is possible to produce on-site a thixotropic adhesive mortar, easy to apply, suitable for bonding to masonry or old plaster, and the subsequent smoothing, reinforced with fibreglass mesh, of insulating polystyrene foam coats.

Use fields

Applying finishing coats, coatings and bonding in coating-based thermally insulating systems, including buildings with panels made of polystyrene foam.

Preparation of supports

The application surfaces should be clean, free of incrustations, crumbling and non-adhering parts, dust etc.

Use method

Pour 2/3 of the total mixing water in the concrete mixer, gradually add the product and the remaining water, mixing until a homogeneous lump-free mixture of the desired consistency is obtained. Leave the mixture to rest for about 5 minutes and then proceed to a further short mixing.

Spread with a brick trowel or plaster trowel, with its own specific application methods and paying attention to the following procedures:
- In applications of bonding polystyrene panels, wait at least 24 hours (at 20°C), before the subsequent treatments (finishing coat, etc.).
- In finishing coat applications, it is mandatory to use the alkaline-resistant fibreglass mesh ARMAGLASS 160. The mesh should be pressed with a smooth spatula on the mixture while it is still fresh, taking care to provide overlaps of at least 10 cm in the joints between one panel and the next. After the first layer of RASOCOAT has dried, proceed with the uniform application of the subsequent layer.

The consumption for bonding the panels is about 5-6 kg/m². Consumption for reinforced smoothing: about 4.5 -5 kg/m².
